A programme of Learning Sets has been running in the City of Plymouth and the County of Cornwall during 2014. We have been working with our partners Plymouth Community Healthcare (CIC), Plymouth Mind and the Plymouth Mental Health Network in facilitating a programme of Action Learning Sets for mental health practitioners, service users, family members and local community organisations and services. Based on the success of the work so far it has been agreed to continue the programme in 2015.
In 2014 in Cornwall with our partner Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust we facilitated a series of meetings for family members and services to determine their whole life needs and what improvements they needed in mental health services across Cornwall. This work has led to the establishment of a Whole Life Whole Systems multi-agency steering group charged with developing a strategy to take this forward.
Alongside this work our partners agreed to form an Action Learning Set that met for the first time in December 2014. This group will continue to meet in 2015 with facilitation provided by IMHCN.
