Polish Mental Health Services are in the process of transforming from institutional care to community based provision. This reform will include the development of a number of community mental health centres for adults and young people across the country. This reform is helped by significant funding from the European Community. This process also includes the development of the Open Dialogue Approach and the appointment of 300 Recovery Assistants.
A conference was held in Wieliczka from the 25th to the 27th September to celebrates the achievements so far and to take forward the mental health reforms. The conference was supported by Regina Bisikiewicz from the
Polski Intystut Otwartego Dialog, Fundacja Leonardo and the IMHCN.
